Ohana Japanese Steakhouse on 4th Street Temporarily Closes for Move
Ohana Steak & Sushi (5510 4th Street, #100 in Lubbock, Texas) is temporarily closed as they make a move.
So while you won't be able to eat at this exact location, you soon will be able to enjoy them again at the former Cantina Laredo location (114 West Loop 289, #200), according to a comment left by the page on Facebook. If you cannot wait for the new location to open, you can of course visit their South Lubbock location at 5217 82nd Street.
I'm sure many are relieved to learn that their favorite restaurant isn't going out, just moving up. I believe their new location near Lubbock's Alamo Drafthouse will be an improvement, as the interior of that building is light and airy, with plenty of windows.
I've spent quite a bit of time at this location of Ohana myself. It seems to always be the place my family members want to go for their birthdays. My family loves sushi and is also very spoiled, obviously. It's a tradition of ours to take the birthday boy or girl down to the Dollar Tree and humiliate them with a bunch of balloons and other plastic stuff to point out that it's their super special day.
Ohana Steak & Sushi is also known for its hibachi dinners that are entertainingly prepared in front of you. Personally, my favorite part is when the onion tower erupts in flames. If you're so inclined, last I checked the old hibachi stoves from the 4th Street location are up for sale in the Lubbock Facebook Garage Sales group... if you have $400 and promise to be very careful and not set yourself on fire.
