One Person Killed, Another Injured in Deadly Vehicle Accident Near New Deal
One person has been killed and another sent to the hospital after a deadly vehicle accident near New Deal Monday morning (May 7).
The Texas Department of Public Safety was called to the crash scene (FM 1729, west of County Road 2000) at around 2:15 a.m. Monday morning.
According to KAMC News, the driver of a Lexus passenger vehicle lost control, went through a fence and rolled multiple times before the vehicle caught fire. Hours later, Texas DPS identified the deceased female passenger as 38-year-old LaTanya Denise Lacey of Lubbock.
The driver, identified as 35-year-old Skyler Lynn Duncan of Lubbock, was taken to University Medical Center with non-specified injuries.
Volunteer firefighters from multiple counties, Lubbock EMS and the Lubbock Sheriff's Office, were all reportedly called to the scene.
