If Floating the River Isn’t Your Style, Then Try Scuba Diving in Texas (Yes, You Can Scuba Dive in Texas)
Texas is so big we have almost every natural wonder available without leaving our state. That includes the world's largest spring fed pool at Balmorhea. Perfectly clear water, and great for scuba diving.
I've only been diving once, and that was on a resort in the Bahamas. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I'm going to get certified one day.
One of the ways Texans get Scuba certified is at Balmorhea. It only gets to around 25 feet deep, which is perfect for training before you head to deeper spots. And since the Gulf of Mexico is so far away and the water is dirty and not good for diving in most places, inland spots like Balmorhea are great for Texas Scuba divers.
Or if you don't want to scuba dive, you can just swim in the world's largest spring-fed pool, so there's that.
Here's a map showing how close it is to go scuba diving in Texas.
And here are some pics of the beautiful pool.
