The Moon Mountain fire in Ruidoso, New Mexico has burned over 150 acres over the past two days.

Albuquerque ABC-affiliate KOAT-TV reports the Moon Mountain fire was 30 percent contained as of Tuesday morning. Then, later in the afternoon firefighters stopped the advance of the wildfire.

The Associated Press reported Ruidoso schools were closed Tuesday due to the proximity of the wildfire.

Wednesday's weather should allow firefighters an opportunity to continue to battle the wildfire. The high temperature will be in the low 50s and winds will be out of the west at 20-25 mph, gusting up to 35 mph.
