Paul McCartney is trading in his yellow submarine for a pirate ship: The iconic Beatles singer heads to the big screen on May 26, when he makes his Pirates of the Caribbean debut in the swashbuckling film franchise's fifth installment, Dead Men Tell No Tales.

McCartney revealed his participation in the movie on May 13, when he tweeted a character poster of himself in costume, complete with charcoal-lined eyes, scraggly beard and stylish albeit tattered buccaneer hat.

While little is known of the Beatle's role in the film, Rolling Stone reports that rumor has it the musician will be playing a jail guard in a brief cameo role.

However, McCartney isn't the first rock star to appear in Disney's Pirates series. In 2007, Rolling Stones rocker Keith Richards made an appearance in At World's End as Captain Jack Sparrow's father.
