It's already hot and it's only getting hotter! We feel it and so do our pets. With that in mind, here's a few 'cool' ideas I found to keep your fur baby comfortable this summer.

I got the idea for this article when I was browsing Facebook and came across this post from Recipe Secrets Revealed about chickens:

This is a GREAT idea and it could work great for other pets too! My two dogs, Maddie the Lab and Doc Holiday the Great Dane, would both go NUTS if I gave each of them something similar, but with crushed up treats inside. Maybe even their own regular dog food. They both love to eat, so it really wouldn't matter.

Hydration is also very important in these hot summer months, so you're not only cooling them off, but upping their water intake at the same time!

These cooling mats work great too. You can get them from Amazon for anywhere from $15 to $200 depending on your budget.

You can also do what I do and freeze wet towels then lay them out for the animals to lay on! My pups LOVE it!

These things are pretty awesome too! A girl I dated briefly had one of these for her adorable little mutt and it worked like a charm. You just freeze the ice packs that fit conveniently into the slots on the back of the harness and the animal stays cool for HOURS!

Again, Amazon has these things starting at about $30.

Finally, the elevated mesh dog bed where you can combine the two things I mentioned above for the ultimate 'Hot Day Dog Spa'! Imagine your pup relaxing on a frozen blanket, chewing on a big piece of tasty ice while they feel the breeze blowing under their furry belly on one of these babies! Now THAT'S dog heaven!

Texans who disagree feel that removing these teaching standards are a step in the wrong direction and may lead away from educating our children about the diversity of American citizens and their histories.
