Plan Ahead: Store Hours For Thanksgiving Day Shopping In Lubbock
Thanksgiving is almost here, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll be busy prepping the turkey, watching football, and making sure your favorite stretchy pants are ready for a full day of food and beer. But here’s a reminder for folks in Lubbock: if you’re planning a last-minute dash to the store, you might want to double-check who’s open.
This year, several major retailers in Lubbock are closing their doors on Turkey Day, giving their employees a day off to spend with family and friends. That’s right, folks--no Walmart runs or Costco stops on November 28.
Here’s the list of stores that’ll be closed for the holiday:
- Walmart
- JCPenney
- PetSmart
- Ulta Beauty
- Guitar Center
- Michaels:
- The Gap
- Target
- Bath & Body Works
- Costco.
- Sam's Club
- Best Buy
- Kohl's
- Home Depot
- Lowe's
- TJ Maxx
- Marshalls & HomeGoods
However, if you find yourself missing a crucial ingredient or need something last-minute, a couple of stores will still have limited hours:
- H-E-B will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., so you’ve got a narrow window to grab what you need.
- United Supermarkets will be closed on Thanksgiving but will reopen at 6 a.m. Friday morning for the Black Friday rush.
- Walgreens: Most 24-hour stores remain open all day; however, specific hours may vary by location. You'll have to check with your closest store
- CVS: Stores are open, but hours may vary by location. You'll have to check with your closest store here too.
- Dollar General: Open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Family Dollar: Open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
So, plan your Turkey Day shopping early and wisely in Lubbock! Double-check with your favorite stores to avoid surprises. The majority of the retail world may be closed, but it’s a great reminder to slow down, enjoy the holiday, and be grateful--even if it means skipping a last-minute Walmart run!
