Police Arrest 76-Year-Old Lubbock Man for Intoxication Manslaughter
On Thursday, June 10th, a 76-year-old man from Lubbock was arrested for a crash that he was involved in a few months prior.
KAMC News reports that back on March 11th, Paul Anthony Pinkston was driving his 2003 Dodge Dakota pickup truck along US Highway 62/82 near Quail Road in Hockley County. Reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety indicate that Pinkston was driving southwest in the northeast lanes of the highway.
While driving in the northeast lanes, Pinkston collided with a motorcycle that was driven by 22-year-old Case Dwain Clark of Lubbock. Clark was pronounced dead at the scene, and Pinkston was transported by EMS to University Medical Center with serious injuries. This all happened a bit before 9 p.m. that day.
Pinkston wasn't actually indicted for the intoxication manslaughter charge until Friday, June 4th. As of June 11th, Pinkston remained in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $500,000 bond.
It's reported, however, that the case against Pinkston was filed in Hockley County. Court records indicate that Pinkston has hired an attorney and has also requested a bond reduction hearing. The request for a bond reduction hearing was still pending as of the writing of this article.
