What Happened?

Capriglione, a Southlake Republican known for leading tech legislation and heading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Committee, stunned lawmakers by abruptly ending his reelection campaign. Just days later, a 25-minute video interview dropped on conservative outlet Current Revolt, in which a woman named Alex Grace claims a 17-year affair with the lawmaker—alongside even more disturbing allegations.

Grace, a former exotic dancer, told the outlet she began the relationship in 2004 when she was 18. She alleges Capriglione paid for multiple abortions during the affair, despite his public leadership on Texas’s 2021 “trigger ban” and six‑week abortion law.

Capriglione's Response

In response, Capriglione issued a statement admitting to “an affair years ago,” but strongly denied ever paying for abortions. “The rest is categorically false and easily disproven,” he insisted. He also threatened legal action against Grace and the publication, calling the story “defaming.”

Grace didn’t hold back. She claimed Capriglione used a burner email and phone to arrange meetings and even once sent her to a Chuck E. Cheese parking lot to pick up cash. She said his wife was aware of their relationship—and allegedly encouraged his yearly trips to Amsterdam’s Red Light District. Some of Grace’s most shocking revelations include vivid, disturbing fantasies Capriglione allegedly shared about children.

Lawmakers React

Several Texas lawmakers immediately reacted. State Rep. Briscoe Cain, R-Deer Park, called for Capriglione’s resignation and a House investigation. "If he had any role in killing babies—he should resign," Cain posted on X.

Capriglione has served in the Texas House since 2013, representing District 98 in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. He’s the author of key bills including the Human Life Protection Act and the Data Privacy and Security Act. In recent sessions, he helped create the Texas Cyber Command and pushed legislation on artificial intelligence governance.

What's Next?

Although he won’t run again, Capriglione pledged to serve out his term through January 2027. The news has shaken up GOP politics in North Texas, with potential contenders—including former rival Armin Mizani—eyeing the open seat.

As the story continues to unfold, West Texans—and the entire state—are left asking how such a high-profile public figure, known for championing family values, came under scrutiny for private behavior that may contradict his public principles.
