Police Establish Possible Motive in Putt-Putt Fire
A possible motive has been established regarding the fire that destroyed Putt-Putt in the 5100 block of 29th Drive.
According to a search warrant at the Lubbock County courthouse, investigators received a tip that 18 year-old suspect Caleb Michie had told others he started the fire and indicated he did so because the city was going to tear down the entertainment park anyway.
Legal demolition notices had been placed on the property.
Michie has been detained by the Lubbock Police Department and jailed in lieu of bonds totaling $7,500.
Police say they aren't ruling out the possibility of future arrests being made in this case.
