A tragic scene unfolded Wednesday morning just outside Shallowater, and now we know the names involved.

The Original Incident

At around 7:40 a.m., the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call from a distressed individual on the 6600 block of North County Road 1630. When deputies arrived, they found a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. Emergency Medical Services were immediately dispatched, and deputies on scene attempted life-saving measures. Sadly, the woman succumbed to her injuries before she could be transported.

Now identified as Erin Neudorf, 50, the victim’s wounds are believed to be the result of multiple stab injuries, though an official cause of death is still pending from the Lubbock County Medical Examiner.

The Suspect

The man detained at the scene has been identified as Nickolas Deleon, who turns 29 on Thursday. Deleon is currently booked at the Lubbock County Detention Center and has been charged with Murder in connection with Neudorf’s death. A mugshot of Deleon has been released by the Sheriff’s Office.

No motive has been released at this time, and investigators have not commented on the relationship, if any, between Neudorf and Deleon. More information will likely be made public following the autopsy and additional investigation.=
