South Plains Mall Tax Free Shopping This Weekend

It's always nice to save a little money when you can, and this weekend is a great time to save! The South Plains Mall is doing their 'Tax Free Weekend' just in time for back to school shopping.

WHAT?

South Plains Mall is hosting the Back-to-School Give Back to help local kids in need start the new school year strong. We’re working with The Found Mission to collect much-needed uniform items for standardized dress school districts, tennis shoes, and financial contributions are always welcome: $35 allows FOUND to purchase a full uniform, $75 will purchase a uniform and new tennis shoes; your support helps provide the basic needs of many kids in the region and allows students to head back to the classroom with confidence.

Just in time for back-to-school shopping, the highly anticipated annual three-day sales tax holiday is scheduled for Friday, August 9th through Sunday, August 11th, 2024. During this period, retailers will not be required to collect sales taxes on most clothes and shoes (including boots) that sell for less than $100. Some school supplies are included on the tax-free list as well. This will save shoppers about 8 cents per dollar, which adds up quickly when purchasing clothing items for families.
