Texas Teacher Arrested on Sexual Assault and Grooming Charges

Jaden Renee Charles, a former science teacher at Agua Dulce Secondary School in South Texas, was arrested in March 2024 in connection with alleged improper sexual conduct involving students. Charles, now in her mid-20s, was taken into custody following an investigation by the Agua Dulce City Marshal’s Office and the Alice Police Department.

Law enforcement officials allege the investigation began when school officials reported a student with vapes on campus. During interviews related to that matter, authorities say multiple students disclosed inappropriate relationships with Charles. Investigators told media that up to 12 male students may have been involved, although the total number and details remain part of an ongoing investigation.

Charles has been charged with:

• Two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child

• Two counts of grooming

Charges were filed in connection with suspected conduct involving minors, and they span both Jim Wells County and Nueces County.

She has resigned from her teaching position and has been booked into jail with a reported bond amount set at $400,000. Conditions of release, if bail is granted, are expected to include no contact with minors and wearing an ankle monitor, according to local reporting.

Court documents and local reporting have outlined some of the circumstances that led to Charles’ arrest and subsequent charges:

• Investigators allege Charles provided THC vapes and alcohol to students as part of grooming behavior. Several boys reportedly confirmed inappropriate relationships during interviews with law enforcement.

• Authorities indicated they obtained video of Charles with a student at a hotel, though they have not publicly detailed the content of that video.

Reports from court records also include a separate allegation that Charles tied a blanket around the front seat headrests of her vehicle and engaged in sexual conduct with a 14-year-old boy while two other minors were present in the back seat. In that matter, Charles reportedly claimed she was pregnant with the younger student’s child at the time. That judicial matter remains a component of the overall case.

Court Proceedings and Next Steps

Charles appeared in court in 105th District Court before Judge Jack Pulcher for a status hearing. Her attorney has noted delays in evidence delivery, particularly concerning the Jim Wells County component of the case. As a result, those cases have not yet moved forward to indictment in that jurisdiction.

Her next scheduled court appearance is set for the first week of April 2026.
