C.A.S.T. for Kids Brings Fishing Fun to Buffalo Springs Lake
A Special Day for Special Kids
Grab your rods, reels, and a whole lot of smiles, because something pretty special is happening this fall at Buffalo Springs Lake. This Saturday, October 4th the nationally recognized C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation will host a one-of-a-kind fishing event designed specifically for children with special needs!

The program, which has been held in communities across the country, gives kids ages six and up the chance to enjoy a fun morning on the water. But this isn’t just about fishing—it’s about building memories, boosting confidence, and celebrating some amazing kids right here in West Texas.
What Families Can Expect
The event kicks off at 8:30 a.m. at the Marina. After check-in at the registration table, each child and their parent or guardian will be paired with a Volunteer Boater for 2–3 hours of fishing fun out on the lake. Don’t worry about bringing gear—every child who participates will receive their very own fishing equipment to keep, free of charge!

Once the fishing wraps up, the celebration continues on shore with lunch for all participants, followed by an awards ceremony to recognize each child. Nobody goes home empty-handed—every child is celebrated for their effort, their courage, and their love of the outdoors.
