Steve Vai Announces 2012 North American Tour Dates
Rock guitarist Steve Vai has announced 49 tour dates to support his upcoming album of solo material called ‘The Story of Light.’ The tour will begin one day after the album’s release, on Aug. 15 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and end on October 13 in Agoura Hills, Calif.
As reported earlier, ‘The Story of Light’ will feature 10 melodic instrumentals and two songs featuring female vocalists (Aimee Mann and Beverly McClellan). The project is the second part of a operatic trilogy, which will include lyrics and narration.
In addition to regular tickets, Vai is giving fans an opportunity to purchase a premium package called the EVO Experience. It includes a meet and greet pass, a Q&A session with Vai, access to sound check, a 2012 ‘Story of Light’ Tour program, an exclusive EVO Experience laminate and a number of other Vai merchandise items.
It’s not clear how much tickets or the EVO Experience will cost or when tickets will go on sale. Vai will begin a tour of Europe on July 20.
