Everyone lost their minds when Taco Bell brought back the beloved Mexican Pizza, but it appears that you can't get it anymore.

The chain brought back the popular item after removing it back in 2020 just to pull it a couple weeks later because of the high demand.

According to USA Today, Taco Bell cited that one restaurant sold more than 1,000 Mexican pizzas in just one day. That's crazy, right?

"While we’re currently selling out, for now, we’re working diligently with our restaurants and suppliers to get more back in the hands and stomachs of our biggest fans by this fall," said the fast food chain in a letter to fans.

I wanted to know if it was happening here right here in Lubbock, too. I got the sad news confirmed at the Taco Bell near 98th Street and Slide Road. Here's what the sign at the location said:

I thought I was going to get to try it but sadly that wasn't the case. If you didn't know the Mexican pizza is supposed to obviously reassemble a pizza but it has beef, refried beans, cheese, diced tomatoes between two tortilla shells and their Mexican pizza sauce.

Did you know there's a hack to still get the pizza while it's removed? You can ask for two tostada shells with refried beans and ground beef sandwiched between. The sad part is they won't have the pizza sauce, so you'll have to ask for red sauce on top sprinkled with cheese and tomatoes.

While it might not be the exact same, hopefully it will hold you over until they bring the menu item back.

There's some good news for Mexican pizza lovers. According to USA Today, Taco Bell is expected to bring the item back permanently in the fall.

The 10 Best 'Hole in the Wall' Restaurants on 34th Street in Lubbock

34th Street is known locally as "where the work gets done," but it's also where the eats go down. (Side note: I also might be the only one that says that because nobody else I know remembers that.) Back to the point, these buildings might be unassuming from the outside, but the kitchens absolutely know what's going on.
