Texas is One of the ‘Most Fun’ States in America
How FUN would you say Texas is? Are we a top 10 state? Bottom 10? Middle of the pack? An annual study ranked all 50 states by how FUN they are based on the amount of stuff there is to do.
And believe it or not, the #1 most fun state is:
Florida. (It's all fun and games until you're eaten by a gator.)
The rest of the 10 "most fun" states are:
2. California
3. Nevada
4. New Yor
5. Colorado
6. Illinois
7. Texas
8. Washington
9. Minnesota
10. Louisiana
The 10 LEAST fun are:
1. West Virginia
2. Mississippi
3. Delaware
4. Rhode Island
5. Arkansas
6. Vermont
7. Connecticut
8. New Hampshire
9. Kentucky
10. North Dakota
Of course, not everyone's idea of "fun" is the same. That said, West Virginia seems like a hard sell across the board.
I was wondering what the most visited tourist attraction in Texas would actually be, and the answer was a little surprising. According to TexasTravelTalk.com, it's the San Antonio Riverwalk...
The San Antonio River Walk is probably the most popular attraction in Texas. It spans 10 miles between downtown San Antonio and Mission Reach Park at its northernmost point. The riverwalk offers over 20 restaurants, hotels, and shopping.
Like I said, that was surprising to me, but I guess it makes sense. San Antonio is one of the most historic, beautiful cities in America. The Riverwalk is fun, scenic, and offers a little something for everybody. Maybe it DOES add up after all!
Being born and raised in Texas and having traveled all over this big, wonderful state, I decided to 'be a tourist' and see what they suggested if I went to TripAdvisor.com and asked, 'What are some fun things to do in Texas?':
- San Antonio River Walk
- Space Center Houston
- The Alamo
- Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens
- Natural Bridge Caverns
- The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza
- Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District
- Reunion Tower (that's the big ball tower thing in downtown Dallas)
Now, remember this list, buckle up and hit the road for some FUN in the Lone Star State!
