Texas Man Arrested for Trying to ‘Sell’ 16-Year-Old Son
A Pearland, Texas father has been charged with sale or purchase of a child, a third degree felony, after reportedly attempting to sell his adopted son.
ABC News 13 says 45-year-old Ronald Hoyt or Pearland, Texas, had adopted his son Alan when he was a young boy. But over time the relationship got worse as Alan got older. He said his father made sure he knew he was adopted.
Last year Allen met Michael Gonzales, who gave him a home and went to court to become his managing conservator and recently decided to adopt Alan.
But Hoyt wouldn't sign the papers and according to the report, he wanted two years of subsidy for Alan. He went on to say he would take Gonzalez's Nissan truck and the rest in cash.
The deal was done with an undercover Pearland police officer in the room and security cameras rolling. Hoyt was arrested soon afterwards and charged with the third degree felony.
