Kliff Kingsbury spoke to the media Sunday, July 30 at Texas Tech Football's 2017 Media Day to answer a few questions before the individual sessions. Kingsbury spoke to having total control of the program five years in. Everyone on the roster was recruited by his staff and the culture has been set.

An update was also given to the Da'leon Ward, who isn't participating in the first week of practice due to academic issues. Kingsbury gave his patented, "We'll take it from there."

Kingsbury also spoke to the impact Coach Jabbar Juluke will have on the running game and on the Texas Tech running backs.

"He has a good feel for what were trying to accomplish in the spread offense," Kingsbury said, adding: "He knows we need to improve in that department."

Juluke has had plenty of success as a coach, putting Kenneth Dixon and Leonard Fournette into the NFL, as well as working with Derrius Guice last season at LSU.
