These Texas Twins And Their Dark Deeds Will Have You Seeing Double
Ask any parent of multiples, twins are the definition of 'double trouble'.
In some controversial studies, research suggests that twins have a higher incidence of criminal behavior. Whether its nature or nurture, Texas has definitely had some notable crimes involving twins over the years.
TWIN INVASION: Tevin & Devin of Port Neches, Texas
On October 8, 2021, police responded to a call regarding a possible home invasion at a residence in Port Neches, Texas. As they arrived on the scene, twin brothers Tevin and Devin McGhee exited the home and were placed under arrest.
Tevin McGhee claimed ownership of a .22 caliber firearm that was found in his possession. He also informed officers that he had used the firearm to shoot a victim inside the house.
Tevin and Devin McGhee were charged with burglary of habitation with intent to commit a felony.
In May 2023, Tevin pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison. His twin brother, Devin, pleaded guilty several months later and was sentenced to 30 years.
TWIN FRAUD in Houston, Texas and Allen, Texas
Double up on double trouble and you get the twins who drew the ire of the Feds.
In October 2023, a federal grand jury indicted Shalondria Simpson, 45, and her twin sister, Lashondria Simpson-Camp. Shalondria owned and operated two pharmacies in Houston, Texas and Lashondria is a practicing physician in Allen, Texas.
The two are named in an indictment regarding "$170 million health care fraud that involved kickbacks and money laundering" according to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas.
TWIN TRAGEDIES: Shamalya & Troyshaye Hall
In March 2023, Shamalya Deyonshanaye Hall of Italy, Texas was charged with capital murder for the killing of a 6-year old boy and 5-year-old twins. Two other small children were wounded in the process.
Hall is said to have carried out the stabbings when a Texas Child Protective Services caseworker attempted to remove the children from the home.
She was booked into Ellis County jail and given a bond of $2,000,000 on each count.
In a surprising twist, it was revealed by a local news affiliate that Hall's twin sister was also accused of stabbing a child to death nearly two years prior.
In June 2023, Troyshaye Hall admitted to stabbing her 7-year-old daughter Madison Pery and wounding a teen boy. The attack was allegedly unprovoked.
Troyshaye was found incompetent to stand trial and was admitted to North Texas State Hospital, according to Dallas County jail records.
