This ‘Prank’ Happening in Lubbock Could Cost You a Ton of Money
There seems to be a new prank happening in Lubbock or possibly in one area of Lubbock. Either way, if you're the victim, it could end up costing you some money.
According to the Nextdoor app, kids in Lubbock are going around and turning on water hoses and just letting them run until someone in the house notices and turns off the water. I'm not sure if the kids wait down the street or laugh while saying "they got hosed," but apparently it's happened more than once.
One user on Nextdoor posted that "kids are turning on water hoses and leaving them running again in the 97th and Ross area again." This time, the homeowner caught at least one of the kids on camera:
Neighborhood kids are turning on water hoses and leaving them running again in the 97th and Ross area again. watch out! A guy down the street owes me 25 bucks because of this I took the camera footage to him watch your kids please some people might not be as nice.
If you live in Lubbock, you know water isn't cheap. And if you're someone who doesn't leave the house often or if this "prank" happens to you overnight, it could end up costing you on your next bill. During the summer, it can turn into an expensive headache.
Hopefully this isn't a widespread thing going on, and hopefully the kid(s) who got caught on camera will stop. This is just another good reason to have cameras outside your home and get to know your neighbors.
