Try Some Mead at Honey Buzz Winery in Canyon
If you are looking to try something a little different and don't mind a short road trip, Honey Buzz Winery and Creek House Honey Farm in Canyon, TX need to be on your to-do list.
Creek House Honey Farm is a, well, honey farm and now a destination in Canyon. On the farm sits very nice building that is divided into two sections. The first, selling honey and honey products. They had chocolate honey, honey lotion, home goods, and all types of things for sale.
On the other side of the building sits the winery. This isn't wine from grapes. This is mead. Wine made from honey. The mead is brewed by George Nester who started brewing mead years ago. He and his wife, Paige, opened the farm store at Creek House Honey Farm in 2018 and had hopes that a winery would open soon.
There are several different types of mead available to try. I recommend trying a flight of mead and ordering some food. They also offer mead slushes which are supposed to be great on a hot summer day. I'll probably try one the next time my wife and I head out there.
Once you order your drinks and food, there are a number of places to sit inside and outside as well. My wife an I enjoyed sitting in the big rocking chairs as the day we went it was in the low 70's with a nice breeze.
My wife and I both enjoyed our trip to Honey Buzz Winery and Creek House Honey Farm. We will be back.
