Two Men Arrested for Street Racing After Causing Major Accident on Loop 289
Lubbock Police have arrested and charged two men with felonies in connection with a street racing incident that caused an accident on Saturday (August 25) on Loop 289.
21 year-old Jose Angel Flores and 20 year-old Tyler Johnson have both been charged with Racing on a Highway Causing an Accident, which is a second degree felony. In addition, Johnson was also charged with writing a bad check, which is a Class C Misdemeanor. .
Four vehicles were involved in Saturday’s accident which injured two people traveling in a Lincoln Continental. Both Flores and Johnson were driving Dodge Chargers over 100 mph on the Loop when the accident occurred.
Both men have had their bond set at $100,000 dollars and they remain in custody at the Lubbock County Jail.
