Police responded to a shots-fired call in the 1500 block of 43rd Street. There were no reported injuries.

KAMC News reports that another shooting, related to the first, happened in the 6500 block of Avenue T. Police say 3 people forced their way into a residence. A man in the house began fighting and struggling over the gun one of the people had brought. It's said a woman that was in the home grabbed a machete to protect herself and hit one of the suspects.

Police arrived and found the man with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The 3 that entered the home were identified as 19-year-old Sharif Hakim of Snellville, Georgia, 23-year-old Shuaib Hakim of Irving and 19-year-old Rafiq Abubakr of Desoto.

Abubakr and Sharif were located at a grocery store at 50th Street and Avenue Q. They were arrested and charged with burglary and organized crime.

Shuaib was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center but his charges had not yet been listed.
