It's about to get loud—and wet—as Wake the Canyon 2025 makes its big return May 16–18 to Buffalo Springs Lake! This adrenaline-fueled event marks the kickoff to the Texas Wake & Surf Series, and it’s bringing all the tricks, flips, and good vibes Lubbock could ask for.

When Does it Start?

The action kicks off Friday, May 16, with Free Ride Friday—a chance for riders of all levels to hit the water, get a feel for the conditions, and warm up for a weekend packed with serious competition. Think of it like a pit party, but on the water.

Saturday and Sunday are when the real fireworks start. Riders from across the region (and even beyond) will compete in multiple wakeboard and wakesurf divisions based on age, skill level, and style. We’re talking everything from Junior Novice (yes, for the little ones just learning the ropes) to Expert, Masters (35+), Longboard, Foil, and even separate Skim and Surf categories.

Saturday night will also include a concert right in front of the beach featuring Mystery Stain and the Local Nobodys.
