I'm a proud member of a local charity Walk In Their Shoes. Our goal is to provide new shoes and other clothes and athletic gear to Texas kids who have been placed into foster care. And our big fundraiser is this Saturday, so please get a ticket and join us.

Walk In Their Shoes is a charity founded by Natalie Craig, the owner of Regimen Men's Salon. She wanted to do something for local foster kids. These kids are often displaced from the only home they've ever known, have everything they own in the world in a trash bag, and are placed into the foster care system.

The goal of WITS is to get these kids a real travel bag to carry their stuff and provide them with new clothes, shoes, and athletic gear, so at least they can own something that isn't a hand-me-down, and still take part in sports at school.

Since the foundation started, it has grown to not just serve the Lubbock Children's Home and Texas Boys Ranch, but to serve schools and homes across Texas. Partnered with Under Armour, the WITS charity is making positive differences in these kids' lives.

So Saturday, July 21, 2018 is our big annual fundraiser, and you're invited. It is a Tour Of Texas. The event is from 7-11:30 p.m. at the private home of the owner of Clearview Custom Homes.

There will be a love auction, and Dan Patterson and Josh Weathers will perform live. There will be Texas food and Texas spirits available too as we work to "Empower Texas Children". Please get a ticket and join us so we can support more kids in need.

As a bonus, there will be a meet and greet with both the artists playing, along with signed memorabilia from Kliff Kingsbury and other Texas Tech players who will be in attendance.
