BBQ lovers in Lubbock can begin to rejoice even more. The Shack BBQ is reopening soon.

The Shack BBQ, which closed in June 2020 during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, is coming back, but with new owners. Previous owners Kyle and Kelly Farris sold the building and recipes last month after searching for months for someone to take over the business.

The new version of The Shack BBQ will open on Wednesday, April 14th, 2021. In a Facebook post, the new owners said that they don't want to rush the opening and want to make sure that everything is right a kept up with The Shack BBQ's quality and standards.

Opening day will be April 14th. We don't want to rush opening. We want to make sure everything is right and keep The Shack quality and standards.

We learned last month that the previous owners, Kelly and Kyle, would be heading back to Lubbock to help The Shack BBQ reopen:

According to a Facebook post however, the main pitmaster and morning cook who had cooked all of the sides will be coming back to the new Shack. There is more good news as well. The new owners will have the same recipes as the original Shack and Kyle and Kelly Farris will help train the new crew.

I'm glad to see that the new owners of The Shack BBQ are committed to keeping the quality of the BBQ that was served for years at that. It shows they know they are getting a good product with a built-in fan base that really enjoys the BBQ they get from The Shack.

Thanks to Renee Raven for the tip on The Shack BBQ's reopening date. Renee covers a lot of local restaurant and business openings. You can see some of them here.
