Texas Ain’t the Most Country? See The Surprising Rankings Here!
The site Zippia set out to answer an important question: What state is the most like a Country song?
They used four somewhat stereotypical metrics to determine which states were the most Country: the states with the highest alcohol consumption, the highest percentage of dog ownership, the highest percent of couples that divorced last year, and the lowest population density.
So, according to this website, you are the most Country if you drink a lot, own a dog, are recently divorced, and don't live around too many people. (Did they forget any other important factors?)
Based on that formula, here are the top five MOST Country states:
1. Idaho
2. Nevada
3. New Mexico
4. Oregon
5. Missouri
And here are the five states that are the LEAST Country:
1. New York
2. New Jersey
3. Connecticut
4. Illinois
5. Maryland
Do we think Tennessee is butt-hurt to only be the 20th most Country state in America? Also shout-out to Idaho for being sparsely populated, and to their people for owning dogs, getting drunk and getting divorced.
Maybe we're just too CLASSY to make the list! Although, if you ask me, Texas is the MOST country state! What they're talking about here is more 'Bro-Country' in my opinion.
Bro-Country is all about muddin', trucks, girls, beer and Southern pride. Now, we do PLENTY of that here in the Lone Star State, but our 'Southern Pride' is more 'Texas Pride' and we are just a classier group of rednecks in general! We're more of a George Strait album than a Luke Bryan, Morgan Wallen or Jason Aldean album here!
