Where Can You Get The New Welch’s Cocktail in Lubbock?
This is perfect if you're 21 but wish you were 12 and miss those juice boxes...
Welch's just joined the canned cocktail trend and unveiled four flavors: Vodka Cranberry, Passion Fruit Mojito, Watermelon Mule, and a grape juice flavor called Vodka Transfusion.
Here's a photo of the box so you'll know what to look for (this one is the cranberry, obviously):
They're 5.9% alcohol, so a little stronger than a White Claw and most light beers. Their angle is they're better because they're made with real juice.
I was fortunate enough to get to sample a couple of flavors before they hit the market. My buddy Adolph from Great Plains Distributors brought some for a few of us to try and they were AWESOME!
The grape literally just tasted like straight-up grape juice. It's actually a little scary because it's sooo tasty and you might get through 4 or 5 of 'em before you realize you're wobbling!
The vodka cranberry was good too. It really does taste like a vodka and cran that you would order from your local bartender.
I like a lot of fizz in my cocktail, so I would maybe pour it in a glass and add lime and club soda. But, they really are good just like they come!
I asked Adolph where they were available in Lubbock, and he sent me a detailed list. After looking at it, it appears they're basically available at every liquor store in town. If your favorite store doesn't have them, ask them to contact their friendly Great Plains representative, and they'll stock it for them!
