The City of Wolfforth has announced that testing and construction on a new municipal water well will begin soon.

According to the High Plains Underground Water Conservation District, Wolfforth could use groundwater from the Edwards-Trinity Aquifer. Test drilling for the well will go down to a depth of 1,700 feet and the U.S. Geological Survey will take water quality samples.

If adequate water is located, the new municipal well will increase Wolfforth’s groundwater supply.

The HPWD will allocate $90,000 for the project.
