Chickens are all the rage and eggs are in high demand. With that said, what exactly do you feed your new flock of feathery friends once you have them? Maybe the better question is 'What do you not feed your chickens?'

Whether you are a newbie or a veteran chicken tender (pun intended), then you know there are some restrictions on what you feed your chickens. Some are obvious, some aren't.

For example, bread is terrible for birds in general. Instead, give them all of Mother Nature's fruits and vegetables.

Some natural foods though can actually be toxic to chickens to the point of causing death. And some foods can actually cause changes to the taste of the eggs. For chickens, and most birds, you are what you eat and whether you allow your chickens to free range for themselves or opt to give them store bought food it does make a difference.
