Aerosmith and Cheap Trick have just announced their 2012 summer tour dates, labeling their sizzling pair-up the ‘Global Warming Tour.’ After a successful tour in South America and Japan, Boston’s finest, along with the pride of Rockford, Ill., will return to the USA and kick things off in Minneapolis, Minn. on June 16.

“The old Aerosmith is back with a new vengeance and we will kick your ass and make out with yur mothers,” says Steven Tyler on their webpage.  We could probably do without the latter, but as for the band’s return to the American stage, it’s highly anticipated. Guitarist Joe Perry adds, “Can’t wait to bring this band back home. It feels like we’ve been away too long.”

Only the first round of dates have been announced at this time (see below) but additional dates for a second leg will be announced shortly. Beginning on Thursday, March 29 fans that visit this website and RSVP to the presale will have early access to tickets. If you’re a Cheap Trick fan club member you’ll have even earlier access (Tuesday, March 27) with an opportunity to purchase VIP presale packages prior to the general public.

The 2012 concert calendar looks full of promise with tons of classic rockers (Def Leppard / Poison, Kiss / Motley Crue) teaming up for tours this summer, and this partnership between two legendary American bands should be one of the most exciting.
