Another week has gone by, and former Texas Tech quarterback Baker Mayfield has found himself in the headlines yet again.

During a 41-3 drubbing of the last place Kansas Jayhawks, Mayfield's antics would all begin after the team's captains refused to shake his hand during the coin toss.

That right there is what would set Mayfield off. Even after going up big against the Jayhawks, Mayfield would also tell the Kansas fans to, "go cheer on basketball." Then, there's this video that by now most people have seen.

He ain't saying 'duck stew' there.

Even though Mayfield later apologized for his actions during the game, on Monday morning OU Head Coach Lincoln Riley announced during a press conference that Mayfield would not start against West Virginia in their final home game of the year. Mayfield's status as captain would also be stripped for the game.

Riley was visibly upset as he was choked up for long time talking about what Mayfield means to him as a head coach. He was also very quick to defend the QB. "I'm proud as hell to be his head coach," Riley said. "This darn sure shouldn't taint all the great things he's accomplished here on and off the field."

Riley didn't give a timetable on how long Mayfield would be out but my guess is that it might be just one offensive drive before Baker trots out back onto the field for the Sooners and all will be forgiven.
