This time of year pomegranates are big. They taste and look great and even more importantly, they are healthy for you.

Brenda Garcia with United Supermarkets stopped by this week to discuss the health benefits of pomegranates and to give a few tips and tricks. When it comes to getting the seeds out, Garcia warned that pomegranates can be messy and can stain. Garcia recommended filling a bowl with water and cutting the pomegranate under water and allow for the seeds to float to the top.

Pomegranates are a great source of antioxidants and help with anti-inflammatory.
