The Texas Tech basketball team lost their first game since January 20th on Saturday night to the Baylor Bears, 59-57. The Red Raiders had won seven straight in the near month-long stretch between losses. The Bears are hot in their own right, with the win over Texas Tech marking five straight.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders' worst news on Saturday wasn't the loss, though. It was the injury of senior guard Keenan Evans, who didn't play in the second half against Baylor.

Monday morning brings good news after a stressful wait on Sunday. Keenan Evans has been officially listed as "day-to-day" for the coming week.

Obviously, day-to-day isn't a perfect predicament, but it's much better than a "doubtful" or "out" prognosis. Texas Tech basketball gets back on the court Wednesday against Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The good news doesn't stop there for Texas Tech, who is now the 6th ranked team in the country -- an all-time record for the program.

The move up to 6th from the 7th spot comes despite the loss to Baylor, which was in Waco and against a surging Bears team, with the aforementioned injury to Keenan Evans.

Also helping the Red Raiders move up was a disastrous two-week stretch for Purdue and Cincinnati. Those two teams dropped out of the top 6, and Duke leap-frogged Texas Tech after some solid wins in the ACC.

The biggest news aside from the Red Raiders is Oklahoma dropping out of the top 25, as the team continues its free-fall, losing eight of their last 10.

The Kansas Jayhawks jump back into the top 10 making Saturday's match up even more exciting. They sit at no. 8.

The last Big 12 team standing in the top 25 is the West Virginia Mountaineers, who recovered nicely from their tailspin and sit at no. 21 in the nation after losing to Kansas on Saturday.
