There are so many things to love about Halloween, but when it comes down to it we live for the sweets and the dressing up.

Sure, there's pumpkin carving, bobbing for apples and scary movies, but what pushes Halloween over the top when it comes to fun is all the candy and the outrageous costumes we can wear. It's the one day of the year when you can leave your imminent visit to the dentist on the back burner and get dolled up in some clothes you would never ever wear in your everyday life.

So, let's break it down, shall we? There's no shortage of sweets -- chocolates, lollipops, chewy candy, hard candy -- to entice you and keep you on a sugar high until Thanksgiving. Whether you're a kid who goes trick-or-treating, a parent who steals candy from your kids after they go trick-or-treating or a sucker for a, well, a sucker or any of the litany of Fun Size candies that permeate supermarket shelves, you're bound to keep that sweet teeth happy.

Then again, there's the joy in getting the perfect costume. We love it, right? Whether it's topical (hello, Ken Bone!), classic (ballerina, anyone?) or off the wall (chocolate covered helicopter propeller), our imaginations are unleashed for all to see. And not only do we get to show off our look, we get to see what other people come up with, too, inevitably thinking, "I wish I thought of that."

If you had to give one up, which would it be? No candy? Ugh, what a horrible thought. No costume? Ugh, what a drag not being able to, well, dress in drag (this is the day to do with no judgments, after all).
