The COVID-19 pandemic has brought on a slew of shortages over the past two years. It started with toilet paper and hand sanitizer, and now it's everything from computers, cotton and zippers.
The initial shortages were primarily due to high demand and not enough time to catch up once the shelves were cleared. It also had to do with people's lack of self-control and strange desire to hoard all the toilet paper. But that topic has already been discussed enough.
The shortages now have less to do with people's lack of self-control and more to do with shifts in needs and companies trying to accommodate everyone in the safest manner.
