17 Lubbock Restaurants You Should Try on National Pizza Day
It is February 9th which means we are so close to the big NFL game and Valentines day but also pizza day? February 9th is in fact National Pizza day across the land so it is so hard to not be tempted to just forget about the day and go off in search of the best pizza Lubbock has to offer. Lubbock was recently listed very high on the list of Best Cities for Pizza Lovers which if you think about it is no shocker there.
I do like to think I am a sort of pizza connoisseur after working in a brick oven pizza place a few years ago, yes I am not afraid of a pizza oven fire, and pineapple does belong on pizza. If you read that then that means you agree with me, that's the rules.
Pizza has such a rich history originating in China, I know you all thought Italy, but pizza did originate in China and was introduced to Italy. I can feel all of you gasping but the pizza we all know and love today is a modified version after tomatoes were introduced from the Americas to Italy. I did learn of this from PBS as a kid and remember being fascinated by pizza ever since, it's a melting pot of a meal.
No matter where you order pizza from it always ends with a happy belly and even a good story (that's how I met Texas Tech rapper Culpy, long story). Pizza does seem to be the one food that, mostly, everyone loves but there are some debates such as pineapples, anchovies, broccoli, and even brussel sprouts. That's a no on the sprouts. I say everyone go out and enjoy some pizza on National Pizza Day. Share with us in the comments your favorite pizza place in Lubbock, even if it is a major chain.
