Enjoy Every Thursday Night Out This Summer at a Lubbock Winery
It's finally May which means the cold weather is almost gone and Lubbock can start getting warmer but it also means its wine time. Many people don't know that Lubbock is actually a very big power house when it comes to wine grapes and wine in general. In the state of Texas 85 percent of the grapes used in wine actually come from here in the South Plains.
That means that almost every sip of Texas has a chance of being made from Lubbock grown grapes. Enough of where your wine comes from and more talking about the opportunity to enjoy some of that West Texas wine. One winery in Lubbock is giving many local residents the opportunity to partake in enjoying a glass, or a few, of local wine made right in the Hub City.
McPherson Cellars will be kicking off their annual patio nights on May 4 which are as fun as they sound. These patio nights will be every Thursday starting the first week of May and lasting until the last week of August. For those of you who have never been to one of these patio nights it's a way for people to be able to try a glass of wine without having to purchase the entire bottle. There will also be live music and food trucks present so that people can relax and get ready for the weekend.
More information about Thursday patio nights can be found on McPherson's website along with their Facebook page, which has a list of the live music and food truck for that night. Like the name states, these patio night events will be held on the patio every Thursday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the McPherson Cellars, located in the Depot District at 1615 Texas Avenue in Lubbock. Remember Texas that when you take that first sip you are drinking a part of the South Plains where the wind is crisp, the prairie dogs yip, and the cotton fields grow.
