Nimari Burnett has already signed with Texas Tech, but there were still some nervous nellies in Lubbock this week.

One of the top prospects in the 2020 class and the NBA G League, Jalen Green, struck a deal to bring a brand new team and offer a large contract to skip college and head straight to the pros. Green is also one of Burnett's high school teammates.

There was some thought that Burnett might be tempted to do the same. However, he made it clear this week that he only wants to be one place in 2020-21, and that's playing for a National Championship with the Red Raiders.

Burnett, the highest-rated recruit in Texas Tech history, doubled down in the interview above saying he was focused on playing for Chris Beard and Texas Tech.

"I didn't want to [go the pro route] because personally I want to compete to win a National Championship and learn under a program and a system that will help me mentally and physically to prepare me for that next level," Burnett told Stockrisers.com.

Burnett will be in Lubbock next year along with Esahia Nyiwe, Micah Peavy and Chibuzo Agbo to make the Red Raiders' 2020 class the 12th ranked in the nation and 2nd ranked class in the Big 12.
