It's time once again for the St. Jude radiothon, brought to you by Alon and 7-Eleven.

Since St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was founded in 1962, thanks to Partners in Hope like you, the overall survival rate for childhood cancer has increased from 20 percent in 1962 to more than 80 percent today.

Their groundbreaking research saves children's lives around the world and here in Lubbock.

It costs $20 to become a Partner In Hope (which can be made to a credit or debit card), and it allows you to be a part of this tremendous work. Any donation you can make is greatly appreciated.

Throughout the month of February, if you get gas at Alon and 7-Eleven, you contribute to Pennies at the Pump for St. Jude. For every gallon of gas that you get now through February 28th, 7-Eleven will donate a penny per gallon to St. Jude. So if you need gas, fill up at one of 7-Eleven’s 21 Lubbock locations this month.

So this Thursday and Friday, February 2nd and 3rd, join us for the St. Jude radiothon on Lonestar 99.5 FM. There will be stories of hope and inspiration, plus some important words from your favorite country artists and so much more.

Become a Partner in Hope by calling 1-800-795-1800. Everyone who becomes a Partner in Hope or donates to St. Jude will be entered in a drawing to win a guitar autographed by Ronnie Dunn, CAM, Lauren Alaina, Cannan Smith, Jana Kramer, Dan and Shay, Clink Black and Lee Brice.

St. Jude pledges that they will keep working until no child dies from cancer. A simple $20 donation as a Partner in Hope can make a huge difference.

Lubbock's radiothon has raised tens of thousands of dollars for this great cause in the past years thanks to our listeners' generous support. We are working hard this year to really pull together and reach a goal of at least $50,000. We are confident that this is completely possible.

I traveled to visit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis for 'Country Cares' and look forward to sharing my first hand experience with you during this powerful radiothon! Please join us and you will see how St. Jude is making great strides and doing so much wonderful work. It's truly an inspiration, allowing you to be part of bringing happily ever afters to children facing cancer in the dawn of life.
