It's high school football homecoming season in Texas. San Angelo Central just celebrated their homecoming last week. The Lake View Chiefs will have their homecoming game this Friday against Fabens.

In addition to the homecoming games, there's a lot of pomp and circumstance surrounding what happens on the football field. A recent TikTok video has gone viral detailing the cost of mums here in the state of Texas.

If you're not familiar with homecoming mums, they're sort of like prom corsages. Here's a story that shows mums are "bigger and better" in Texas.

On September 25, Texas user rachel5041 posted a now viral TikTok showing how expensive mums are by asking her classmates how much their decorative pieces cost. One of the mums was nearly $500, according to the clip. Most of the mums were from $200-$300.

There was some confusion in the comments ranging from what mums are to why they are so expensive in Texas:

"This isn't normal outside of Texas," Alessandra added.
Texans chimed in to explain the concept in the comments, helping out those who weren't aware. Others mentioned they didn't spend over $25 for their mums in Texas.
"I love how no other state knows what mums are! I feel like as the years go by the mum's get bigger," Karlee Joyce wrote.
