Hey, Lubbock! Dust off your boots and your dancing shoes (but maybe leave the golf clubs at home unless you’ve already snagged a spot), because one of our favorite hometown traditions is back and bigger than ever!

What is Golf For Kids' Sake?

The 20th Annual Golf for Kids’ Sake Kickoff Concert and Tournament is teeing off tonight, and it’s all for a fantastic cause — supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lubbock, an organization changing lives for at-risk kids right here in West Texas!

Presented by our friends over at SERVPRO of Southwest Lubbock, the festivities get rollin’ Friday night at SERVPRO HQ, 7477 County Road 7000. Doors open at 6 p.m., and for just $50 a ticket (or $360 for a full table of eight), you’ll get:

  • Live country jams from the always-awesome Spur 327 Band

  • Finger-lickin’ BBQ dinner from Chopped & Sliced

  • A live auction, raffles, and games

  • And yes, yours truly will be there once again as the emcee for the evening. Let’s raise some money and do some boot scootin'!

Golf is OFFICIALLY Sold Out

That’s right. If you didn’t register for the Golf for Kids’ Sake Tournament at Lakeridge Country Club on Friday, May 2nd, you’ll have to wait until next year to swing for a good cause. The tournament is now completely sold out—a testament to just how much this community cares about local kids.

Golfers lucky enough to snag a spot will be treated to:

  • Breakfast from All American Eatery

  • Lunch by the legendary pitmasters at J&M BBQ

  • And a day full of laughs, competition, and making a real difference for Lubbock youth.

All for the Kids!

100% of proceeds go directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lubbock, funding life-changing mentorships that help kids succeed in school, life, and beyond.

So whether you’re headed to the concert tomorrow, swinging clubs next week, or just cheering on from the sidelines — thank you, Lubbock. You’ve shown once again that this city has a big heart and an even bigger drive to give back!

Bonus Video!

Here's a GIF of yours truly playing one of the games where you wear a dress and hit your drive with a baseball bat. Good times!
