United Supermarkets Corporate Dietician Brenda Garcia has been encouraging us to grab a boost of blue. Blueberries, that is.

These small bursts of flavor pack just 80 calories and 4 grams of fiber into a one-cup serving, and they are packed with anthocyanins, which studies show help improve brain health and prevent conditions like dementia and Alzheimer's disease. As Garcia said, you might not think about it now when your brain's working fine, but later on, you'll appreciate what you did to take care of your brain health.

Garcia said you can encourage your family to eat blueberries fresh or frozen, or even dipped in yogurt for a snack. Freezing blueberries is as simple as spreading them on a baking sheet and popping them in the freezer.
