I always hear people talk about how there 'isn't anything to do in Lubbock.' There may not be many extravagant things to do in the Hub City, but if you take the time to look closely, there are some wonderful little spots that can be really fun.

I recently discovered one of my favorite Lubbock gems: Clay Cafe. I love anything creative and artsy, so this place is right up my alley. I have been to similar places in other cities, but I got the chance to visit this spot for the first time last weekend.

When my friend first mentioned it I was intrigued. It sounded like it would be similar to some of the other places I have been to, but the term 'cafe' threw my partner for a loop. We were wondering if maybe it was a pottery painting and coffee shop combo or something of the sort.

Turns out that is not the case. It is just a fun name for a nice little pottery painting shop. They do have some refreshments, but not in the way we were initially thinking. Although, I was very happy to see you could get a juice box while painting if you wanted.

Who doesn't want to feel like a kid again doing arts and crafts while sipping on apple juice? Maybe I'm just weird, but that sounds like a darn good time to me.

They have all sorts of different things to paint, including plates, mugs, piggy banks, and so much more. I painted a cute little chicken-shaped container that I named Toni, and I can't wait to get her back in a couple of weeks once she is done in the kiln.

I definitely think this shop makes a great place to go on a date with your partner or hang out with friends and make some memories that you can keep with you forever.
