The Lubbock Oddities Art Market is Back in Time for Spring-o-ween
The cold temperatures are almost completely gone and creepy crawlies are coming out of hiding but one event is just ready to get us in the odd, weird, and haunting spirit of spring. That's the Oddities Art Market.
This special bi-annual market was founded back in 2021 by three local artists, Mary Burt, Kaitlyn Salazar, and Sam Gaitan. This market is a way for people who are into weird things or are the weirdos (such as myself) to come together to find things that speak to them. Metaphorically speaking of course.
There will be well over 20 vendors located at the Oddities Art Market along with a few local food trucks. When you attend this event you are guaranteed to always be supporting a local Lubbock, or surrounding area, business. A few of my personal favorites to look for are the magical art prints and flower infused honeys that come from Lubbock bees. Who doesn't want to try some of that sweet gold honey from some Hub City bees?
There is some special merch available for those interested to help support the Oddities Art Market but it is only available until April 27. The market itself will be open for all your Spring-o-ween, Spring time Halloween, necessities on April 29 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the CASP 5 & J Gallery at 1106 5th Street in Lubbock.
This event is free to the public and all are welcome to enjoy the weird and beautiful with some surprise performances scheduled for that night to make for a very odd show. More information about this event can be found on their Facebook page with updates and spotlights on the various vendors.
