‘Demon Slayer,’ ‘Mortal Kombat’ & More: Hub City Comic Con Returns
Hub City Comic Con returns to Lubbock Friday, September 3rd through Sunday, September 5th. The convention will feature exhibitors, vendors, artists, a cosplay contest and so much more.
Celebrity guests this year include Zach Aguilar, the voice of Tanjiro Kamado in Demon Slayer. Anime may be the biggest pop culture powerhouse right now, and Demon Slayer is so hot right now. He's very prolific, providing his voice to tons of other anime and video games.
Other celebrity guests include Erik Stolhanske of Super Troopers, Kerri Hoskins and Keith Cooke (that is, Sonja Blade and Sub Zero) from the Mortal Kombat video games, Jason Douglas (AKA Tobin) from The Walking Dead, and voice actors Ricco Fajardo, Griffin Burns and Brittney Kawboski.
Activities include: celebrity signings (expect to pay the celebrity's fee), celebrity panels, vendors, cosplay contest, gaming contest, and our friends at Rampage Wrestling will also perform.
If you plan on entering the cosplay contest, I recommend reading all the details and rules beforehand so you have the best shot at winning in your respective category. I also recommend bringing plenty of money, because the vendors at HCCC have always been amazing. I can't help but leave with a plushie I don't need yet also can't live without.
Tickets of all levels -- from VIP to general admission -- are available through Hub City Comic Con's website. Hub City Comic Con will be held in the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, located at 1501 Mac David Lane.
I can't wait to see your cosplay and catch up on our glorious nerd culture. Here are some pics of previous Hub City Comic Cons:
