It probably won't be a blizzard like the one pictured above, but snow could be on its way to Lubbock.

Winter isn't done with us just yet. This week it's becoming more and more likely that a winter storm is likely for Lubbock and the surrounding area.

Temperatures are expected to be in the 60s on Monday, upper 40s/low 50s on Tuesday, and then on Wednesday, it's going to be cold. It's possible that Lubbock could hit 30 degrees, and it's also possible that Lubbock, along with other parts of the South Plains, could see snow.

How much snow? That depends on where you live and who's doing the forecasts. I've seen some forecasts that say the City of Lubbock and counties around Lubbock could see anywhere from 1-3 inches of snow. North of Lubbock, counties could see 2-4 inches of snow if the forecasts are correct.

By now, most people should know that predicting where and how much it will snow is pretty tough to do. Even in the same city, some parts of the city could see a dusting while a different part could see close to two inches of snow.

And, of course, there's also the possibility that we will see nothing. It might just be cold on Wednesday. It's happened before when snow was predicted, and I'm sure it will happen again.

One thing's for sure: since snow has been mentioned, the stores will be packed with people getting food, toilet paper, bread, and other needed items to make it through the winter storm. If that winter storm happens, it will likely be short-lived. Thursday's high is expect to be around 49 or 50 degrees, so any snow we get (if we get any) won't last very long.
