‘Goosebumps’ Monsters Come To Life In Trailer For New Movie
The next time a librarian insists that your imagination can bring books to life—as if that's a good thing—kindly point him or her to the Goosebumps trailer above.
The film, based on R.L. Stine's collection of horror stories pegged for kids, will officially find its way to the silver screen in October, and if you weren't already inclined to steer clear of your creepy neighbor's house, it'll be just the cautionary tale you need.
The flick, which stars Jack Black as Stine, himself, follows a young kid named Zach, who moves to a new town and quickly befriends a girl named Hannah. One night, after sneaking into Hannah's house—convinced his new friend is in trouble—Zach unwittingly releases a gaggle of monsters into the world by cracking open a series of Goosebumps books that had previously kept the beasts imprisoned. The abominable snowman, invisible boy and a brigade of garden gnomes are soon set free into the world, and it's up to Zach, Hannah and Stine to capture them once more, and secure the safety of...pretty much everyone.
The original Goosebumps series included 62 books that were released between 1992 and 1997. Welcome to Dead House was Stine's first work, while Say Cheese and Die!, Night of the Living Dummy and The Werewolf of Fever Swamp turned out to be some of his audience's favorites.
Check out the clip, and be sure to see Goosebumps when it hits theaters on October 16.
