Hurricane Milton is now a category 5 hurricane and it's about to absolutely SLAM into Florida Wednesday or Thursday. It's going to hit near Tampa.

The thing that makes these storms so incredibly destructive are the winds...obviously. Milton already has winds blowing 175MPH and they could get WORSE! They're predicting storm surges up to 15 feet as well.

In light of this, coastal communities have a mandatory evacuation order. Major cities like Tampa, Orlando, and St. Petersburg are preparing for significant impacts, including power outages and flooding.

I actually saw the video below today and it helped put the category designations into perspective:

As you can tell, there's quite a difference between a Cat 2 and a Cat 5 hurricane. They all are bad, but Milton is BAD bad.

This storm is incredibly scary for you and me, but a veteran weatherman like John Morales brushes these storms off like it's no big deal, right? Right?!?

Wrong.

John Morales has been working in the world of weather prediction since 1984 when he started at the National Weather Service. He's a trusted voice in weather for the people of Florida on NBC affiliate WTVJ in Miami.

Yesterday, John went viral after nearly breaking down during his report on the storm. Here's video:

I'm sorry, but this reaction seriously freaks me out. I don't know basically anything at all about weather except for what my buddy Ron Roberts has told me that I probably didn't listen to. But John Morales knows more than just about ANYBODY when it comes to weather events and he's literally crying on national television over the severity of the situation. This is not good at all.

Keep Florida in your thoughts and donate to the Red Cross if you want to actually help people affected by Hurricane Milton.
